Yesterday I had to wait for someone to drive me back home. Fortunately is was at a friend's farmhouse. I sat down in his friend's office and took this photo. A really nice and quite place to be!

An old bottle in an even older mill

Today I was exhibiting a few of my works inside an old mill in my neighborhood. The number of visitors was low, due to the great weather we finally had today. I could have spend the day taking shots of the mill. But instead this old bottle caught my attention. How long has it been standing there? Did the miller warm himself by it during a cold windy day working to get the floar ready for the baker? Imagine yourself!

De mieden

Sun is setting in "de mieden", a real nice and quite place to be, just a few minutes from where I live. I love to go there for short bike trips.

Summer mushroom

Rain, rain and rain again! Words we heard a lot the last few weeks. But why so pessimistic? Thanks to that this 'summer mushroom' was able to grow to a beautifull subject to shoot. I found this one at Frytsjam, a local organic fruit nursery and processor of soft fruits. Their site is written in englisch as well site so don't hesitate to visit!

Een hernia en een zogende ree

Vanmorgen was ik vroeg wakker. Niet dat ik daar zo'n behoefte aan had. Om de pijn in mijn rug te verzachten ben ik eerst een stukje gaan fietsen. Camera voor de zekerheid toch maar mee. Nog maar net onderweg kom ik in de Mieden (op de ijsbaan van Twijzel) een ree tegen met twee kalfjes. Eén van de kalfjes kreeg, nadat het eerst met de voorpoten op moeders rug klom een slokje. Niet veel later had moeder mij in de smiezen en was de voorstelling afgelopen. Vanwege de afstand is het technisch gezien niet het mooiste plaatje. Daarom voeg ik er eentje uit de oude doos bij.

Ja, volgens mijn buurman zou dat het geval moeten zijn. Maar op dit moment is het windstil en zacht.

Old barn treasures #1

Today I spent some time inside the old barn. That's where I keep my '63 Fordon Dexta. Currently it does not run due to a bad battery and probably the rust will cause the mechanics not to rotate. I have work to do here. In the background there are some old wooden doors. This photo was taken using a lensbaby control freak. Enjoy!

Beautiful colors

Today I was out in my garden to check what the first sun did to the flowers. Again nature is working hard to attract bees and all kinds of other insects. #lensbaby monument (repost)

Yesterday when I drove back home from my work in Amsterdam towards where I live in the northern part of The Netherlands I (yes again) stopped on the "Afsluitdijk". Now for some #lensbaby playtime. I took this photo of a monument on the middle of this "enclosure dam". I like the focus on the horizontal roof part.

Liberation day

Today it's the Dutch liberation day (second world war).  This photo is related with that to some extend. The pigeons that left these eggs I found on the farmyarrd just started a new begin, just like our country then.

Mixed emotions

Here they are again, competing in the final obstacle of their competition expressing a total different emotion compared to the one in my previous blog. They earned a nice third place, congratulations girls!

Dutch queensday 2012

Today many Dutchies will be dressed in orange, red white and blue celebrating queensday and will be outside in all kinds of activities. Yesterday these girls already where in the mood for a day full of laughter. Today they will drive their horses and carriage in a contest. Good luck!

Plastic field

The fields back mine are covered with plastic this years. Normally corn is growing here, I'm wondering what it will bring this season. In the photo I worked with Perfect layer 2 for focus stacking.
